The Importance of Regular Updates

As someone who relies heavily auf their trusty Tommy (my trusty old Garmin), keeping its maps up-to-date proved essential during one particular road trip last winter.

I recall driving back home during Christmas break when Tommy suddenly insisted we take an exit off Highway One near Big Sur California which added nearly two hours detour due our final destination San Diego!
It wasnt until later when reviewing our route online did we realize Tommys outdated maps had led us astray.

This mishap taught me a valuable lesson⁚> keeping ones Garmin updated ensures accurate directions especially traveling long distances during peak holiday seasons!

To avoid such mishaps⁚

  • I make sure Tommy stays current⁚
  • I login monthly⁚
  • I plug him into laptop;
  • I fire up Garmin Express;
  • then let magic happen!

In doing so, our road trips became far less stressful knowing Tommy brought his A-game!
